Lazy Days
Ok, I will admit that I had to take a break from the Christmas stuff...... Are you laughing with me? Well that is only half of the truth. I am not sure whether you listen to the weather reports, but we are getting way too much rain this summer in Florida. We have already received +14inches this month. Needless to say, it has been really hard to schedule any photography sessions outside. The field we usually visit is flooded, and Olivia was attacked by mosquitos the other day. So we decided to give it a rest until things dry up. I will definitely spray her next time we go, and you can laugh if you see her wearing rain boots.

YES More Christmas, but this time in the form of a skirt - the NICOLLE SKIRT. Olivia and I have grown very fond of skirts in the last few years. They are easy to slip on and paired with just a simple t-shirt, they look great and are comfortable to wear. She was especially fond of this one and felt very grown up today.

Christmas in July
I know exactly how you feel! Christmas already. YUCK ! It is still summer and the thought of icicles and frost, gifts and fa-la-la-la just really does not sit well with me either. However, from experience I can tell you this, that orders start as early as August and usually end by October 30th due to insufficient arms. So maybe now you can understand why it is time to talk about Christmas.
Something cute for little boys
Once I make up my mind to make something or design something, I always think about the practicality of a garment. I know from experience, that just because I think something is pretty, does not necessarily mean it is practical for a toddler. As I have said many times before, I like to make clothing that can be worn longer then one season, or something that can be dressed up or down. My favorite type of clothing is something pretty and practical. Not an easy task!
European Corduroy Jumpers
Aaaaaah........since I was already asked whether or not I would be selling this style of dress again, I decided to add them to my shop as quickly as possible. Introducing Natalia and Chloe. Unfortunately, I will not be making these dresses ahead of time - only based on orders I receive. In other words, there will be no Ready To Ship available with these dresses. The fabric is imported from Germany, and as most seamstresses know it costs about $15-$24 a yard retail. So I would prefer not to waste a single yard of it.
There are lots of combinations available. The pictures just do not do them justice, as many customers can verify. The colors are bright, and the prints are unique and beautiful. The corduroy is a light-to-mediumweight, which makes it perfect for the Fall and Winter seasons. The dress pattern is a classic long waisted - back closure bodice, with an above the knee length skirt.
As most of you know, I like to create dresses that are versatile. I dressed Olivia in this dress during the Fall with a pair of turquoise sneakers, and as seen above in the pictures. Your child can wear this dress with a t-shirt, or a turtleneck or a blouse. Dress it up or down and it will still be perfect for any occasion.

Charmed by Hopscotch
Yes, simply charmed by this lovely fabric. That is what I would call it. Little girls playing in a field of flowers. So dainty and so cute. Of course, I love this round collar and the way it makes the dress feel so light and fluffy. Godets help to add lots of twirl to the dress, and it is simply a pleasure to wear. At least that is what my kid, and my niece tell me. This dress is available in a size 3 for immediate shipping, and otherwise it is available in sizes 12mos-6.
It is also available in white as seen here on my daughter Olivia.
Creamy Flower Girl Dress
Here is another "perfect" party dress - Creamy Flower Girl Dress - that I recently added to the website. It is made out of a cotton sateen fabric with a shiny surface, no matter how many times you wash the dress. In this case, the dress was made with a pink sash and neckline ruffle, because the customer needed it for a wedding. However, the wonderful thing about this dress is that it can be combined with any color the customer chooses. This dress is perfect for church, communion, Easter, Christmas (yes, I have it in red too LOL), Graduation and so much more. It is so lovely.

Introducing Mia. A lovely halter dress in bright vibrant geometric and retro style fabrics. It is another favorite for Weddings. If you are a fan of PINTEREST, you will often see pictures of lovely aqua and yellow weddings. Beautiful combination for outside weddings. This dress was particularly designed with such an occasion in mind.
Weddings
This is the time of year, when I get asked "what do you have for a wedding?". Weddings don't just creep up on us, but let's face it.......we are not going to buy the kids a dress in the middle of winter. So you wait. Then you stress out because you almost forgot about your best friends wedding!!!!! OH NO.

Introducing Avalon
Can you say YUM! I for one love navy blue and white, and yesterday my order from MODA arrived with the newest Fig Tree AVALON fabrics. Just in time for summer. I only ordered this color for the time being, because I have desperately been seeking a lovely navy blue combination. These patterns, and colors are perfect for the dresses I had in mind. I am very excited.
I also plan on testing a few new patterns. I will review the patterns on my site and let you know how I liked them. Feedback is always welcome if there are any patterns you would like me test.

Easter Break
Wow, I had a great three day weekend with the family. It was wonderful, and I spent almost no time at all on the computer, or in my sewing room. On Thursday afternoon, I turned off the lights, and walked away from the job.
Well, even if I had wanted to spend my time sewing, the kids had me going all weekend long. On Thursday morning, I was a volunteer for Olivia's class. The weather was gorgeous, and it was the first event I participated in all year. I know that sounds awful, but Daddy is always there for her if mommy could not find the time. They combined a field trip with an Easter Egg Hunt, and the kids had a blast. Relay Races, games, playground, and an Easter Hunt. Quite the fun morning.
The afternoon was spent working again, and once everything was finished, I relaxed in the Living Room with the kids watching a Disney movie. I was so exhausted, I could barely move. LOL.
Friday, we spent all day on the road running errands. Grocery shopping, Toys R Us, playground, and I arrived home just in time to start cooking dinner. On Saturday the kids were invited to another Easter Hunt. This time the Egg Hunt was hosted by our little town, and it turned out to be quite the large event. I could not believe how many eggs were laying in the baseball field. The kids had so much fun playing with friends, having their faces painted, jumping in the bouncy houses, and of course running around collecting eggs. Olivia wore her Easter dress, and I was so happy that I finished it that very same morning. She chose her own fabrics, and I ended up merging the classic bodice with the bunny fabric she adored. My son on the other hand, changed clothing as soon as he got there, claiming that he could not play in his good clothes. LoL.
So as you can see my weekend was far from being relaxing. I know most moms can probably relate to this. All I could think about doing this weekend was watching a good movie, taking a nice long hot bath, and possibly doing a bit of shopping by myself. HA! The joke was on me. Nevertheless, I was happy to spend most of my Sunday in the kitchen, and finishing up all the laundry that had accumulated over the last two weeks. It felt good to be back to normal again, and to do what mommy was supposed to do.
Today I am looking forward to a well-balanced day. I have lots of work that still needs to be done, new designs that need to be finished, surprises, and new pictures that will be coming up soon. I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter as much as we did. What can be more important then spending it with the ones you love?
